Barak Obama: The New President of USA in Brief

He entered the US Senate on January 4 2005
He announced his intention to run for the 2008 in February 2007. After a lengthy battle with Hillary Clinton, he seized the Democratic nomination in June 2008


He formally accepted his party's nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, on August 23

He delivered the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston

Their daughters, Malia Ann and Natasha, were born in 1998 and 2001

He married Michelle Robinson in October 1992

After Harvard Law School, Obama returned to Chicago, joined a small civil rights firm, ran a voter registration drive, and lectured on constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School
